Important Things to Consider when Buying a Home

As we are eyeing into purchasing an owned family abode. Me and my husband conducted a family meeting to discuss and hear ideas from our two sons to consolidate our plans of where and what type of house do we need to buy. It will be a permanent dwelling so we need to assent to the most important things to look for and consider when buying a home.

We were happy to know that our children agree with our ideas of an ideal home. We opt to buy a house that will fit the family needs, interests and wants. Which is most preferred a high rise dwelling or a single-detached house and lot? Majority voted for the single-detached house with a spacious lot in front and back. We all want to have a small backyard garden to do mini-farming, as we are all enthusiasts of agriculture and taking care of house pets at the same time.

We are planning to buy for a home that is uniquely designed to fit our wishes and budget. We prefer a green home that is energy-efficient and is more comfortable and healthier. The vicinity in which it is located is also a priority. A home equipped with eco-friendly structure and appliances. Living in a neighborhood close and in touch with nature will surely promote a healthy lifestyle. What about you, what are the things you look for when buying a home?

  1. I also like a single detached house, but hubby and I wanted to live in the city where its close to schools, hospitals and shopping mall thats why we end up living in a small condo.

Its really healthy to live in a neigborhood attach to mother nature. Good luck! Hope you get your dream home soon.

  3. our house is single detached and my parents decided for that because of the lot space compared to those row houses. consider the space of the house, of course. and your safety.

  8. As for me in planning to buy a house, not a home for it is not bought, the first consideration is the budget. Then suit the budget to the kind of house it could afford to purchase. Now, take a good look to the place where the perspective house is located. For you have the budget, you have the ideal house, but the location is not suited for your needs. So you've have to compromise. Unlike constructing your own house. You've to first buy a lot from an ideal place you want to. Then, you've all the chances to design your house. Now, when everything is done and you transfer to your house, it's the time now that you could build a home inspired by the Lord., wherein there is love, peace, and harmony among the members of the family. Only the house is bought and built, but not a home!

  10. same here... location and a decent neighborhood are what counts to me as well as convenience where department stores, hospitals, wet market, schools are nearby.

  12. I certainly look at the architecture as well as how close the important places such as malls, job etc. are. However, having a home in the middle of something beautiful and natural is awesome.

  13. We consider flooding ... high ceiling, ventilation, and if there's enough space for the fireman to pass through ... we also look at neighbors and firewall ... inside the home, we look at bathroom and water pipes

  15. there's just tons of things that would be considered. when you have kids they'd really prefer with a front and backyard - anything spacious.  Finding a green home is a great idea too

  16. Just echoing what you and other commenters have said, it's better to live in a house with a yard when you have kids. Or at least get a condo with big garden areas around it. :)

  17. I always love gardens. I would want a place with a spacious backyard too for that and of course if possible a hut where we can entertain guest (make them enjoy fresh air).

but with the house I want to keep it simple. as long as there would be an extra room for a library/office since I do work at home...
